Camp Quinebarge - Where, Kindness, Friendship, and Fun Flourish

Located in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, Camp Quinebarge, a summer camp, offers children ages 6-16 a safe space where kindness, friendship, and fun are the priorities. Camp Quinebarge was built on the shores of Lake Kanasatka and opened in 1936.

Tom and Ruth Kenly developed the camp with several others, beginning with a few cabins and buildings. Singing and camping skills were some of the things children from New York, New Jersey, and New England learned at the camp. Later, the camp added a range of activities and events, such as Monkeytown USA, a city with its own mayor, Olympics, and carnival.

In 1962, Camp Quinebarge changed hands when Tom and Barbara Brunelle took it over. Mr. and Mrs. B, as they were called, made the camp co-ed after adding the all-girls camp, Camp Winnetaska, in 1975. The Brunelles continued to work at the camp until Mr. Brunelle passed away in 2010 and Mrs. Brunelle retired in 2013.

Today, like in the past, some of the activities children enjoy are horseback riding, boating, swimming, arts and crafts, ceramics, woodworking, hiking, sailing, and motorboat tubing, among others.

Camp team members belong to the Lake Kanasatka Watershed Association, the American Camp Association, and the New Hampshire Camp Directors Association. Camp Quinebarge also contributes to the Lakes Region Food Pantry and the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.
